HarDDA - Harnessing the Demographic Dividend.
According to the United Nations Population Fund, the Demographic Dividend is the economic growth that results from a shift in population age structure.
It is when the share of the working age population is larger than the non working population. The demographic dividend is a period of 20-40 years when fertility rates fall.
This is due to significant reductions in maternal, child and infant mortality. Simply put... it is the freeing up of a country's resources for economic development.
However, to harness the demographic dividend, there needs to be Education, empowerment, good health, sustainable employment and entrepreneurship.
The HarDDA Initiative aims to educate people in Africa about the Demographic Dividend. This will ensure that Africa's youth has the potential to harness the Demographic Dividend.
Let's HarDDA together.
